BETA-ALANINE. The what, the how and the why.

Beta-Alanine is a popular supplement among athletes and fitness enthusiasts because it's been shown to enhance performance and benefit overall health. As one of the main ingredients in our Pre-Workout Blend, we thought it was about time to explain the what, the why and the how!

So, What is it?

Beta-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid. It isn't used to synthesize proteins instead, it produces carnosine which is then stored in our skeletal muscles.
Carnosine reduces lactic acid accumulation in your muscles during exercise, which can mean improved athletic performance.

How does it work?

As we exercise, our muscles break down glucose into lactic acid. This is converted into lactate. As our muscles become more acidic, the ions reduce the pH levels making them more acidic.

Muscle acidity blocks glucose breakdown and reduces your muscles' ability to contract which causes fatigue. Carnosine serves as a buffer against the acid, reducing the acidity in muscles during high-intensity exercise meaning we can work harder for longer.

Multiple studies have shown that beta-alanine helps increase your time to exhaustion which in short, means you can exercise for longer periods of time.

ANDD, it has contains antioxidant, immune-enhancing and anti-aging properties. Win win right?

We want to help you feel your best which is why we wanted to include Beta-Alanine in our Pre-Workout Blend.

Nothing quite compares to the feeling of a great workout and if we can give you a helping hand to get there, you can bet we're going to do it!!

Happy Working Out.
